TYLER REID
​
Tyler Reid is a year-round professional ski and mountain guide based in Winthrop, WA. He founded Pacific Alpine Guides in 2011 with a dream, and a passion, for human-powered skiing in wild places. Since then, he has lead trips across the globe to Chile, Japan, Kazakhstan, Greenland, Siberia, Antarctica and Nepal, including pioneering numerous first ascents and descents. His favorite mountains on the planet surround Tebay Lodge in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Alaska, where he makes an annual pilgrimage every spring to oversee the program PAG is best known for.

He is an AMGA Certified Ski Guide, has AIARE Level 3 avalanche training, and is an AIARE Level 2 course leader. Tyler is an ambassador for Arc'teryx, Atomic and BCA, and he also works as a heli-ski guide for North Cascade Heli.
In addition to skiing, guiding and adventuring in the mountains, his other passions include reggae, surfing, photo/video production, learning to paraglide, and exploring the world with his wife Melissa and their two kids Kaia and Judah. In 2016, Tyler and Melissa climbed the Northeast Ridge of Mt. Everest together.
